13. June 2009 — Arshan and reunited with Irkutsk Bikers
Guess what? Had a lie in and left Irkutsk well after lunch time for what I thought the last time. The plan was to go to Ulan-Ude after spending the night with the Irkutsk Bikers in Arshan. But it all came differently. Later more about why….
14. June 2009 — In Irkutsk again
So night was way to short. Did not sleep much. Anya went to the shop to get something for breaky. One of the bikers walked by and said in the other camp they were missing a german biker
15. June 2009 — Still Irkutsk
Woke up this morning and it was raining buckets. Since Lena did not have to work the next day and she would show me the city if it wouldn’t rain. We decided that I would leave Irkutsk the day after that. Lena chanceled some of lessons today but had to go in to work at 4pm so I spend some time watching movies. We had dinner and spend nice evening together when she came back from work.
16. June 2009 — And still Irkutsk
Went into town late by bus and visited Anya. Then I got the tour of the city. We had some food and ran into Valera. Met some other bikers. Nice relaxing day.
17. June 2009 — Leaving Irkutsk for the last time
Late start into the day again. Went back to the bike club and said goodbye to Lena. Mixed feelings on one hand would love to stay but I think leaving would get harder and harder. Finding it bad enough already. Grow fond of the place…
18. June 2009 — Ulaan-Ude and rain again
Got up and tried to dry my sleeping bag at least a little bit. Just so much condensation and dew this morning. Had to pack the tent even though it was pretty wet. Drive to Ulaan-Ude was nothing special but took longer then I expected…
19. June 2009 — Mongolian Visa & worst Guinness ever
Got up and went to the consulate. Very relaxed their. Had to wait in line and at some stage asked a woman working their were I could get an application form and she asked what I wanted to do in Mongolia and how long I was staying. I told her and she went “Oh you normally need a letter of invitation, but see the consul.”
20. June 2009 — French Bikers & horrible border town
Headed out of Ulaan-Ude after buying some food. Getting out of town was difficult as always because you have to get on the right road otherwise you have no chance of finding your way…
