Back in Irkutsk

Couldn’t get my ass in gear this morning. As usual. Only left Nikita’s at lunch for the exhausting drive to the ferry, where I just missed one and ended up waiting for an hour. Again chaos getting off the boat….

As helpful as Russians can be, they can also be quiet ignorant. On this ferry you went on and off on the same door / gate. Which meant that people had to reverse of the boat. Not really possible on a bike. The driver of the case beside me was MIA so kind of pushed the bike backwards while sitting on it. Not that easy. The whole time a guy was standing there watching me struggle. Grrr. Then I finally had enough space to turn the bike around when the car driver showed up, gets in and cuts me off. Fuming by this stage. So did what everybody else does and drove around cars, cut in front of them and skipped any disorganized queue there was.

The drive back to Irkutsk was uneventful. Very quiet in the Bike Club for a Friday then was told that it was a bank holiday so most people were away for the weekend. Anyway stayed up way to late, but at least with Natasha’s help got my clothes washed.
