First border crossing - not really with Europe’sopen borders
Little lie in this morning. Got up at 8:30 and started with the bike maintenance. I was not the quickest getting on the road. left at around 10. Got a good but boring 100 miles done before lunch time. Stopped for refueling on the worst designed service station in the world…
Anyway nice sunny start to the ride again this morning but all of it motorway. Boredom factor was much improved just before the Austrian border when I finally got of the motorway and continued on a B-road into the foothills of the Alps to the Austrian Border and the Alps proper. Really stunning scenery and roads. A lot of bikes on the road as well. Since its Sunday I guess most of them where weekend warriors.
Stopped at 6:30 at this camp ground. Tried out my fuel cooker for the first time to cook something. Will have to go to bed soon. Two things before I stop. A) Some of my Austrian friends will be happy to read that I rolled into Austria with STS on my mp3 player b) had this strange thought during the day that at the moment I’m feeling like a fraught / fake about this whole traveling around the world thing. I guess so far I have not achieved anything and not overcome any obstacles.
