Getting misplaced in Mexico

Did change my rear tire to a Pirelli MT90. See what that is like. We ate lunch before setting off. Uneventful drive to Enchinada. Well nearly, got to a junction and I had looked at the map for the road number we had to get on.

img 4043So we turned off to follow ruta #3 and I thought it was a little strange that it said Tecate which is in the north. Hm. Hooked up the GPS after driving 20 min and realized that it said we were going north. So stopped to do a map check. Damn we were on the wrong road. Basically ruta #3 was coming down from the north to link up and run parallel with ruta #1 for a few miles. Then it would continue south which was the one we wanted to take. Hate back tracking especially if its 20 miles.

By the time we got thru Enchinada it was getting dark so better look for a spot to camp. Unfortunately it did not look good. Everything was fenced in. We stopped at this little house and just asked if we could camp on their land somewhere. Elena & Marius were really nice and they let us put our tents up under a tree. They spoke a little English and we chatted a bit about our travels. They gave us coffee and desert.
