More dirt roads

Earlyish start. Had some problems finding the dirt road out of town. Then it was 140 miles of dirt, gravel and sand. After about 50 miles I let some air out of the front tire and it made a huge difference in the sand.

img 4107I knew you are supposed to run lower pressure in sand but didn’t really think it would make such a difference. We stopped at some farm and asked if they sell us a coke. Older couple really nice but no word of English.

Made it to the main highway. Saw three girls stuck on the side of the road with a Lincoln Towncar limousine. Tried to help but they were well buried in the sand. It took a truck and rope to get them out. Found a camp spot just when it got dark. Spotted a damp oil patch at the front of the bike. Investigation showed that the oil was seeping thru the cold metal I had put on it in Mongolia. That would need to be fixed in the morning.
