Sharin Canyon
Early start and 10 miles up the road to cafe for chai and food. Then got confused with a spit in the road. Thought I was on the right one then doubted myself. Went the other way, turned out I was right the first time….
Visited Sharin Canyon which they call mini grand canyon in Kazakhstan. 6 miles of dirt track leading there. Good stuff. I did not attempt to go down into the canyon. Didn’t have the guts, on a lighter bike yes. Maybe should have done day trip from Almaty and leave luggage there.
Then nice road between Koktal and Saryozek - mix of steppe & mountains. Massive day today not really noticed. Last 1.5 hours I was looking for place to camp. In the end found a good spot in a layby under some trees. Cowboy camping again.
