The first day on the road
So the day has finally come. I set off from Dublin today for the first leg of my trip. The destination is Germany to visit my parents.
After spending a couple of days with my friends Morten & Simone in Lucan I took the ferry across the Irish Sea to Holyhead in northern Wales….
The day started off dry but overcast. Instead of going the quick way I choose to take the scenic route diagonally across Wales. Great bike country through Snowdonia and the Brennan Beacons on A roads mainly. Really great. Good surface and nice quick bends. Unfortunately the views were obstructed by the low hanging clouds. It started raining about half way through, which meant I was soaking wet by the time I stopped here in Chopstow. Spending the night in a Hotel and treating myself to some food and a few pints.
At the moments it does not really feel as such a big thing. I think it has not really set in yet that I actually have started my big trip. My guess is this will come once I set off from my parents place.
