To Zeya River and inspecting Bridge Security there
Early start and on the road at 9am. Just had some tea and cookies for breaky in Sasha’s apartment. He brings me to the road leading out of town and we say our goodbyes….
Drove all day on a mix of new asphalt and gravel. Lots of construction again. Did not really stop much during the day. Hard Day really.
At 8pm I stopped to get petrol. On my way to pay I ran into these two guys in uniform. I said hi and paid for the petrol. They started asking questions and then they said I should follow them and have a drink with them. When they suggested I could get something to eat and could sleep there I thought ok check it out and I could still leave.
So I followed there car for a mile to a bridge across the Zeya river. The two were security guards for this bridge. I got something to eat and we had a few shots of vodka. Well, security on that bridge is laughable. One of the guys was completely hammered. In the little hut on the bridge head he had his jacket and hat positioned so it would look like he was sitting there.
The other guy (Sasha) was really nice. He takes me to his house for a coffee and to meet his wife. I sleep in the security hut.
